The health and safety of our employees, customers, colleagues
and the public is of paramount importance, and forms a fundamental part of our
business.
We are committed to providing and maintaining safe and healthy working
conditions, equipment and systems of work, and to supplying the necessary
information, instruction, training, supervision and resources to achieve this.
Appropriate preventative measures will be implemented following the
identification of work related hazards, and assessment of the risks associated
with them.
We recognise that the company cannot meet these objectives without the views,
help and participation of the workforce. The company therefore supports a
system of consultation, both informally and in the form of the safety
committee, in order to draw on the expertise of the workforce and the managers
to ensure common agreement on health and safety matters. We seek the active
involvement of all employees in making health and safety an important feature
of day-to-day working, and will always welcome constructive comment and
criticism from anyone in the company.
High standards cannot be achieved or maintained without the commitment of
adequate resources; the company will provide those resources. Outside
specialist advice will be used as necessary, to supplement Rapleys’ own
resources, and to keep abreast of changes in legislation and best practice.
The ways in which health and safety matters are organised are set out in the
body of the Health and Safety policy. The policy will be reviewed and updated
at least annually to reflect improving expectations, and specific changes in
the nature and activities of the company. The Health and Safety Co-ordinator
will take responsibility for the general administration of health and safety
matters, but as Managing Partner I recognise that I am responsible overall for
seeing that this policy is implemented.
